Liverpool sees the Carabao Cup final opposite Newcastle United in the showpiece of Sunday in Wembley.
The Premier League leaders – sitting on top of the table with an almost inviolable lead – are looking for a first trophy of the Arne Slot era, while the Toon Eye has a first large piece of silverware since 1955!
Elsewhere there is a London derby in the appearance in the Emirates while Arsenal is confronted with Chelsea in the Premier League, in which Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen their grip in second place, while Manchester United goes to Leicester to combat Ruud van Nistorroy's devil.
Before that time, the newest headlines are here …
Arne Slot admitted that he knew that he would be expected to compete from the start to trophies after he was affiliated with Feyenoord.
Pastor Jurgen Klopp won the Premier League and Champions League during his supervisor time, and the Reds have been contrary to many occasions, even when they did not succeed in getting over the line.
“I think the expectations are always there, yes, it is part of this club, part of the history of this club and part of the inheritance of a quality team as we have,” said Slot prior to Sunday's final. “Perhaps winning is a bit too much if you are talking about expectations, but certainly competing for it because winning is always about small margins.
“But the expectation was certainly to compete, not immediately my thoughts won it, but I knew I had to compete.”
Dele's fault
CESC Fabregas has few arguments with the decision to dismiss part only a few minutes in the Serie A debut of the midfielder, with the argument that the player made a “serious mistake”.
DELE made his first competitive performance in more than two years when he entered the field as a replacement in Como's competition at AC Milan. The international of England, however, was shown a straight red card after an error on countryman Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
“Milan has world -class players, they are a good team,” said Fabregas. “[Dele] Is a player who scores goals, at the moment he has to improve a lot and it is a serious mistake for someone with his experience.
“He left the team in difficulty, that is the negative of the evening.”
Man Utd Star responds
Diogo Dalot has told Sir Jim Ratcliffe that the players of Manchester United are willing to sacrifice themselves to make the club big again.
At the end of a week when the outspoken co-owner of United accused some members of the team of Ruben Amorim of too much paid and underperforming, Dalot admitted that his uncompromising message strongly resonated in the Old Trafford dressing room.
But the Portuguese defender insists that ready to suffer for the cause has always been the price associated with wearing the famous red shirt. “I think the history of this club is about sacrifice and fighting the world,” said Dalot prior to the trip from United to Leicester.
“It's about sacrificing yourself, and each other, every moment on the field and together with the fans to create the energy that we all feel in Old Trafford.”
