Nottingham Forest took a huge step in the direction of Champions League qualification with a 1-0 win over Manchester United on the city.
Anthony Elanga shot Bos in the night and destroys his former side with a sensational solo run on the counterattack.
While the Red Devils poked and investigated an equalizer, the side of Nuno Espirito Santo defended excellent to hold on to their third clean sheet in four Premier League trips, which extended their lead on Chelsea to eight points prior to Thursday with Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.
In the meantime, Manchester United remained rooted on 37 points with their 13th defeat of the season, still two points behind Crystal Palace that have two games in hand.
Replacement Harry Maguire came closest to the leveling conditions for Man United in the dying moments of the game, but his effort was hit by defender Murillo to the joy of Bosfans.
Chris Wheeler from Mail Sport was on the city to assess the performance of the players in the night.
Nottingham Forest (4-2-3-1)
Matz Sels 6.5
The penalty shootout -hero from Forest's victory on Brighton at the weekend was again solid, well under pressure.
Neco Williams 6
Had to be against Garnacho on his toes and by the end produced a fantastic block to keep the Piledriver of the Argentina wing player out.
Nikola Milenkovic 7
Comfortably treated with Zirkzee and then produced a beautiful interception taille when Garnacho threatens to continue at the end of the first half.
Murillo 6.5
Hardly set a foot and came to the help of his team with a goal line of Maguire in the last minute of added time.
Ola Aina 6
Good duel with Dorgu, but it was demolished when he hoped shortly before half -time and was replaced by Moreno.
Ryan Yates 7
Detailed to mark Dangerman Fernandes and hold on to his task, and usually legal. Victim of a nasty blow to Garnacho's tibia and a wild challenge from Casemiro.
Elliot Anderson 6.5
Another tidy version of the midfielder, who is put in a shift in a shift three days after playing 120 minutes in the quarter -final victory of the FA Cup on Brighton.
Danilo 5
Struggled in the first half and was one of the two changes that Forest made before the break, although it looked tactical by Nuno Espirito Santo while he created Morato.
Morgan Gibbs-White 7
Typically impressive performance from forest no. 10, however, was not as much of a target threat as usual, and balloon a shot in the stands early in the second half.
Anthony Elanga 7.5
Formerly, alternating man scored a solo goal against his old club, 85 meters in nine seconds from deep in his own half. An incredible effort.
Taiwo Awoniyi 6.5
Enjoyed his physical battle with De Ligt and then Dorgu with a bruises from halfway through the second half.
Replacements:
Alex Moreno (Ola Aina 39 ') 6
Morato (Danilo 39 ') 6
Nicolas Dominguez (Elliot Anderson 67 ') 6
Ramon Sosa (Anthony Elanga) N / A
Ibrahim Sangare (Taiwo Awoniyi) N / A
Manager:
Nuno Espirito Santo 6.5
Man United (5-2-3)
Andre Onana 6.5
No chance with the first goal and seemed to have made a sensational rescue of Yates' header early in the second half, but repetitions showed that it would have been excluded for offside. Shame.
Diogo Dalot 6.5
I got a good move and had bad luck to see his header rattling just before half an hour.
Noussair Mazraoui 5.5
Sometimes indecisive, not least when he was caught in two thoughts for challenging Elanga frontal for the goal.
Matthijs de Ligt 7
Almost his heavyweight collision with Awoniyi and brought the defense well everywhere.
Leny Yoro 7
Returned to the line-up after an injury and still produced a lazy version when he switched between the right and the left side of Amorim's Backthree. Brilliant tackle on Elanga towards the end.
Patrick Dorgu 6.5
The young Dane returned after a domestic ban of three games and brought good energy on the left side of United's attack, but was caught on Elanga's goal.
Casemiro 6
I got the nod next to Ugarte, but I didn't make enough. Had a goal for the break, but shot wide from the edge of the box and was replaced by Eriksen just before the hour.
Manuel Ugarte 5
Struggled to get into the game and sacrificed during the break to get Hojlund in advance and to drop Fernandes in a deeper role.
Bruno Fernandes 7
Came in the game with seven goals in seven games and did his best to drag his team back in the game, but the closest where he came to score was a header straight to Sels in the first half.
Alejandro Garnacho 5.5
Was itself surpassed by Elanga for the goal and quirky in his shooting in the second half. Booked for different opinions.
Joshua Zirkzee 6
The preference for Hojlund in Attack, but United was missing a real target threat and he switched to the left flank when the Dane came up during the break.
Replacements:
Rasmus Hojlund (Manuel Ugarte 45 ')
Christian Eriksen (Casemiro 59 ') 6
Mason Mount (Joshua Zirkzee 78 ') 6
Harry Maguire (Leny Yoro 88 ') N / A
Manager:
Ruben Amorim 6
