Forest target McAtee move as they eye City forward to replace outgoing stars

Nottingham Forest focuses on a move for Midfielder James Mcate of Manchester City after losing two important players within a week.

With both Anthony Elanga and Morgan Gibbs-White set to complete the movements to Newcastle and Tottenham respectively, Forest knows that they should strengthen in attacking areas and understands that McATEEE is high on their list.

They weigh a first bid of approximately £ 25 million plus add -on, although it is understood that the city value is their own soil player closer to £ 40 million – the compensation they received from Chelsea for Cole Palmer two years ago.

The 22-year-old played 27 times last season for City, scored seven goals in all competitions and was part of the successful defense of England under the 21 years of their European championship title this summer.

The previous season he was on loan at Sheffield United when they were banned from the top flight.

Newcastle pays around £ 55 million for Elanga, while Spurs activated a £ 60 million clause in Gibbs-White's contract to take him to North London, pending a medical one.

The couple were central last year in the attacking plans of Forest and the club identified potential replacements, with Yoane Wissa from Brentford-a target in the longer term and PSV Eindhoven-Vleugel player Johan Bakayoko also on their radar.

Brentford appreciates Wissa at around £ 50 million, while Bakayoko is interested in Bayer Leverkusen.

Forest also moved in the window for Juventus -duo Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula and showed interest in Malick Fofana van Lyon.

So far, Forest has not been able to bring one of those deals over the line.
