Forest transfer news: Gibbs-White latest, top exit risks & Elanga replacements

Nottingham Forest is furious with Tottenham Hotspur about their approach for Morgan Gibbs -White – but does that mean that the deal is dead?

Will Gibbs-White Anthony Elanga still follow from the exit door of the forest? And who is on the road?

The transfer company of Forest has so far only extends to Botafogo -pair Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha -good prospects, undoubtedly, but with Elanga Away and the future of Gibbs -White so uncertain, more will be needed more.

Here our forest expert Tom Collomosse tells you everything you need to know about the transfer handling of the club.

What is the last about Gibbs-White?

Gibbs-White reported to the forest training area as planned on both Monday and Tuesday, and Mail Sport understands that he has conversations with club officers on Monday morning, before working with his teammates afterwards.

The position of the midfielder of the English midfielder is unchanged: he is open to leaving forest and remains interested in a move to Tottenham, where Champions League football is offered.

Remember that this is a world cup year. Although he showed an excellent form for his club, it is thought that English boss Thomas Tuchel is not yet completely sold on Gibbs-White not enough to make him an automatic choice for the tournament.

Strong versions for a Champions League club can change that.

Is the Tottenham -deal dead?

Under these precise terms, yes. The £ 60 million deal was stopped dramatically when Forest threatened to report Spurs to the Premier League for an alleged 'illegal' approach.

The 25-year-old has a release clause that is thought to be activated, but Forest was furious with their approach and accused them of 'tapping' the player effectively.

But mistaken your non-GIBBS-WHITE has not given up hope for this summer to participate in Spurs. The Noord -London club did not leave the deal either and in the end Forest is still willing to sell for the right price.

The approach of Spurs for Negotiations has Bose owner Evangelos Marinakis in the helm and there will have to be a movement on both sides to revive. However, I don't bet against it.

Despite the current uncompromising tone, who knows how Bos could react if Spurs – or another club – submit an improved offer for their playmaker? They would be foolish not to consider it.

Marinakis is a formidable negotiator and if there is something that Bos can do to change this situation to their advantage, they will do it.

What is behind the robust position of Forest?

Mail Sport was told in January that Gibbs-White opposed formal contract discussions, although Forest was at least prepared to double his £ 60,000 a week and to make him the best-paid player of the club.

After he had included a release clause of £ 60 million in the contract of Gibbs-White when signing him in the summer of 2022, Forest felt that his value exceeded in 2025, hence their determination to agree and change the clause. There was frustration that these conversations never left the runway.

Also consider the context. In the week that Forest fans had accepted the £ 55 million from Newcastle on Elanga, they thought that Gibbs-White was also on their way to the exit.

Perhaps for the first time since the club had fired Steve Cooper in the autumn of 2022, there was a real alarm among the fan base, with many who feared that the team seemed a shoo-in for the Champions League for a large part of last season, fell apart before their eyes.

Now their focus is on the actions of Spurs and Gibbs-White's wish to leave, instead of the transfer policy of Forest.

When Elanga will return to the city with Newcastle next season, he will probably receive a considerable reception. At the moment it might be more difficult for forest fans to treat Gibbs-White in the same way.

How does the team react?

Towards the end of last season, Mail Sport understands most forest players expects Gibbs-White to join Manchester City and some even hoped it would be done soon, because the noise started to distract.

There was a real surprise when City initially did not follow their interest, although there has always been an expectation that at least one of Elanga or Gibbs-White might leave and both.

Instead, the city met for the duo of Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders and paid around £ 70 million for the couple -only £ 10 million more than the release clause of Gibbs -White alone.

The new deals for Neco Williams and Ola Aina were important things, but Mail Sport understands that some in the team are worried about whether the playing style of last season possesses the possession and strike on the counter-attack-so effective in the coming season, especially without Elanga's speed on the flanks.

If Gibbs-White leaves, will more important men leave?

The intention of Forest would be that all major players remain who remain, such as Elliot Anderson, Callum Hudson-Odoi and, especially everything, Murillo.

The advisers of Hudson-Odoi have conversations with forest officials in Greece earlier this month and with only a year about his deal, the time is essential if Forest wants to lose him for free in 12 months.

Mail Sport understands that clubs throughout Europe continue to show interest in Murillo, although Forest does not welcome any offers and would set the price extremely high.

Keep an eye on the 23-year-old, however, as happy when he is in Nottingham, Murillo is happy to be in the Champions League one day and he has attracted an interest in Real Madrid in the past. It is clear that he is intended for the top.

Anyway, the smart transactions from Forest mean that they have many high -quality players, with Murillo and Anderson leading the way.

What about signing sessions?

Forest has a long -term interest in Manchester City, attacking midfielder James McATee, although there is currently some land to make up for good, with McATee with a value of around £ 40 million through the city and about £ 25 million through forest. The 22-year-old is also interested in the Bundesliga, in particular from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Then it's all about wing players, although Bos has trouble landing their goals.

Johan Bakayoko seems ready to move to RB Leipzig from PSV Eindhoven, while his colleague Belgian Malick Fofana, who plays on Cash-Strapped Lyon, is waiting to see which Champions League clubs approach him.

Juventus-wing player Timothy Weah did not love a move to the forest and the path also got cold on his teammate Samuel Mbangula.
