Former Arsenal star’s house burgled while playing final game before retirement

The house of former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette is said to have been broken into while he played during his last game before he retired.

The player in question appeared in his 391st and last match for his current club before hanging his boots at the end of the current season.

His last appearance, however, would be overshadowed by the alleged incident, which it was claimed to take place on Saturday evening.

The French publication Le Progres reported that his house had been broken into by two burglars, which it was said to have access to a safe.

The items that are reportedly stolen are, among other things, jewelry, luxury leather goods and cash, in a robbery that is claimed on tens of thousands of pounds.

The burglary was reported on Sunday morning at 1.30 am, after two people were seen in security images, which led to the local police who launched an investigation.

Alexandre Lacazette, who spent five years with the Gunners, appeared before Lyon in their match against Angers in Ligue 1.

It comes after Lyon coach Paulo Fonseca confirmed earlier this week that Lacazette would leave the club Lyon when his contract runs out this summer.

The Lyon Club legend was honored by fans with a huge Tifo for last night's game.

Lacazette made sure it was a swans to enjoy a personal memorandum, because he gave both goals in the 2-0 win for Angers.

The goals took Lacazette beyond 200 goals for Lyon, who had passed the Club Academy as a young person.

The alleged burglary is not the first to come across Lyon players in recent years, with Georges Mikautadze being robbed last December.

In the meantime, the former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren was the victim of an attempted theft in October 2023.
