Former Chelsea star Geremi has received a five-year ban of football by the FA of Cameroon and Footed £ 13,000 after a dispute with Federation President Samuel Eto'o.
The 46-year-old, who earned 118 caps for Cameroon, the joint second highest in the history of the Land-Inighted the Premier League title with Chelsea in both 2005 and 2006.
He also enjoyed spells in Real Madrid, Middlesbrough and Newcastle before hunging his boots in 2011.
Since it retires, Reemi is often at the center of controversy. He previously played a role in the National Union of Soccer players of Cameroon (Synafoc), but is now struck with a long -term ban after a fall -out with Eto'o.
The feud between the pair dates from the Africa Cup of Nations in 2023 in the Ivory Coast, during the collision of Cameroon with Gambia.
Geremi was reportedly involved in a heated exchange with a member of the Eto'o staff, who quickly escalated and led to the two in the neighborhood being separated.
Reports in Cameroon claim that Geremi was violently removed by the nearby safety at the command of Fecafoot – officials' – and the administrative body has now ruled that the former midfielder should serve a long -term ban as a result of his actions.
“We explain Geremi Sorel Njitap, the president of Synafoc, guilty of violating the rules of conduct of our ethical code,” said a statement.

The assistant of Geremi, Daniel Blaise Ngos, is also sanctioned about the incident and received a two -year ban and a fine of £ 6,500.
It is expected that he will appeal against the ruling, with reports that suggest that he could bring his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in an attempt to destroy or reduce both the prohibition and the fine of £ 13,000.
Last year he made the headlines after splitting his wife after DNA tests who revealed that the two children he believed they were the him were actually conceived by her former partner.
