Sadio Mane and his teenage woman Aisha Tamba have baptized their newborn daughter Animata in their home country Senegal.
The ex-Livepool star, 32, and Tamba, 19, made the knot in January 2024, before Tamba returned to school to complete its studies.
She left the school only eight months ago to join Mane in Saudi Arabia after his move to Al-Nassr in 2023, but the couple welcomed their first child earlier this month and baptized her last Thursday.
The ceremony took place in the capital of Senegal, Dakar, and was celebrated in the house of Mane's Uncle.
Tamba's mother made a grand arrival in a traditional yellow dress, while her father was dressed in all of white for the joyful occasion.
A video of the ceremony showed family members dancing and clapping while celebrating the baptism of Animata.
Mane's uncle, Ibrahima Toure, then made a statement to mark baptism on the stairs outside his house where he paid tribute to the football player and his family.
A lot was made of the age gap between Mane and his wife, since he was 31 when they got married, while Tamba was only 18.
Mane is supposed to have met Tamba when she was 16 years old and paid for her last years at school, where her father unveiled the star who was first for the wedding for more than two years.
Tamba's father said last year: 'One day my wife and Aisha visited their (mane's) family, and this is where he first met her.
'He [Mane] Probably saw something special in her and his parents also appreciated her. They came to me.
'We discussed according to tradition, agreed on everything and waited until this day would happen. They were not dating because Aisha was still young. '
In January, Mane spoke about founding a family with Tamba when he revealed how many children he would like to have with his wife.
“As long as it's a choice, I would say three or four (children),” he told Senepeopleplus. 'Besides that it is God who decides and I will thank Him, whatever happens.
'Whatever the number is, I will accept it. I tend more to three or four and we will see the rest. '
Mane returned to Saudi Arabia shortly after Thursday's baptism to play in the Al-Nassr game against Al-Kholood on Friday evening.
Al-Nassr took a 3-1 victory, with Mane the second scored on his side, and he devoted his goal to his baby daughter by doing a fluctuating movement for his party.
