A court in Monaco convicted Memphis Depay after the former Manchester United and Barcelona attacker was caught driving on drinks in August.
The 30-year-old recently came to the Brazilian club Corinthians last summer, so it was not personally in court to hear the conviction. He has received a conditional prison sentence of four months and a fine of around $ 9,000.
He was arrested when the police saw him riding his Rolls-Royce recklessly. He was persuaded, breathed and was above the legal alcohol limit. Shortly thereafter he admitted the violation and publicly apologized.
