The heavyweight division of the UFC has a new rising prospect after its first victory in the Octagon.
While the main event of UFC Vegas 103 has a crucial flying weight match-up with the return of Manel Kape, the heavyweights produced the first highlight of the night.
Mario Pinto secured his UFC contract through the season of Dana White's Contender Series through last year and seemed to hit Austen Lane.
While Lane has touched a number of obstacles with a no-match and losing back-to-back knockout, the former NFL star bounced back last time.
The former Jacksonville Jaguar made the headlines last October when Lane Robelis defeated Despaigne who has since hit his recently affected in Karate Combat.

Mario Pinto stops Austen Lane with a devastating right hook on UFC Vegas 103
By expanding his undefeated series to 10-0, Mario Pinto made a considerable impression on his Octagon debut after a difficult opening round.
The Portuguese hunter who trains from England admitted that he had some debut tickles in his interview after the fight, but his performance in the second round made up for it.
Pinto closed the show on Austen Lane with a huge right hook to produce the first finish of the night at UFC Vegas 103.
After connecting to a left hand, the judge quickly found out, and took Lane clean over the top with referee Mark Smith who quickly stepped in to wave off the fight.
In five UFC fights, Lane stopped three times after arriving in the UFC with a record of 12-3, after earlier eliminated by Greg Hardy on the Contender Series in 2018.
Mario Pinto is much needed fresh blood in the heavyweight division
Although his general achievements were not flawless, Mario Pinto's debut on Austen Lane shows that he is an exciting addition to the heavyweight division.
He will take a lot of lessons from this first impression, but it is rare to see that someone enters the UFC in this weight class that has so much time on their side to make the necessary improvements and to work on the ladder.
Something special is needed for him not to use an implementation bonus that will certainly make up any errors he made in the first five minutes before he connects to the last blow.
