
A former defender of Tottenham can be forced to retire out of the game two months earlier than planned, after a devastating thigh injury.
The player in question, who spent six seasons in North Londs, revealed earlier this season that he would hang his boots to the conclusion of the current campaign.
Currently, the captain of his Boyhood Club Royal Antwerp, the Belgian Center-Back, was set to say goodbye to football on 25 May at the end of the competition season, depending on the progression of the club in the play-offs.

The defender played 236 times in all matches for Spurs and was a key figure in the side that reached the Champions League final in 2019.
After six years in the club, Alderweirald finally left for Qatar-Kant Al-Duhail, where he would only spend one season before he returned to his home country.
