Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate is back.
Miesha Tate announced her retirement from MMA after a crooked defeat against Raquel Pennington on UFC 205. But after a five -year break, Tate returned to the Octagon in July 2021 and earned a third round finish about Marion Reneau.
After Tate had returned to the win column against Reneau, some speculated that she would go on a different potential run to the title to a possible rematch with the then champion Amanda Nunes. But four battles in her UFC Comeback, Tate's fighting activity has remained slow, including a one-off attempt of the flight weight.
The Pacific Northwest Native Tate would possibly return to the Octagon in UFC Seattle this weekend. But after a potential booking did not flourish, Tate has booked a date for her next fight and her return to the Bantamweight Division.

Miesha Tate booked for UFC-COMEBACK after an absence of 17 months
As announced by Tate on her social media accounts, the former title holder will be confronted with Yana Santos on 3 May during a UFC Fight Night event. The location for the map is said to be the Moines, Iowa, although nothing has been made from this letter.
Tate's return to Bantam weight comes 17 months after her last fight at UFC Austin in December 2023. She defeated Julia Avila, who retired last weekend at UFC Vegas 102, by submitting the third round.
The 38-year-old Tate suffered in four of her previous five fights before the victory over Avila. A flight weight against Lauren Murphy in July 2022 was not as expected, as she lost due to a unanimous decision in a largely crooked defeat.
Miesha Tate returns in the midst of pension speculation versus Yana Santos
Tate wants to return to the form that led to the UFC Bantamweight Championship in Come-From-Behind-Mode on UFC 196. She submitted Holly Holm with just under two minutes in the fight after she was postponed on all three scorecards of the jury in the run -up to round 5.
Before a five-field winning streak was closed by the victory over Holm, Tate was known as Ronda Rousey's greatest rival in Strikeforce and the UFC. She lost twice to the UFC Hall of Famer, including an entry of the third round on UFC 168.
Tate was supposed to return against Mayra Bueno Silva in June 2023 before he withdrew because of injury.
In the meantime, Santos returns to the cage after a victory over Chelsea Chandler last August. The victory broke a three-fighter loss streak.
The UFC debut of Santos came against the then UFC Women'sVedeweight Champion Cris Cyborg on UFC 222 and lost knock-out due to the third round. Since then, Santos has won recent victories over people like Ketlen Vieira and Julija Stoliarenko.
The main event for the UFC card of 3 May is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, together with the full female sleeve.
