Once the worst man on the planet, Fabricio Werdum reportedly decided to call it a career after 25 years.
Brazil's Werdum had the perfect run to the UFC Heavyweight title in 2015, won five-Straight fights and the interim championship before he ticked undisputed chain Velasquez champion in Mexico City.
Werdum would not stay at the top, dethroned by heavyweight large Stipe Miocic in 2016, but he continued to fight for Elite competition until his exit in 2020.
At the age of 47, the former champion was planned to face Frank Mir in the GFL with the game that was eventually deleted due to an injury for MIR. Wasum apparently lost the interest in fighting for the new promotion afterwards.

“We wish Fabricio a quick recovery and the very best when he starts his post MMA trip!”

While the GFL has indicated Werdum's pension in the event of injuries, it is worth mentioning that it was said that he lost the motivation to compete with the withdrawal of Frank Mir.
Wasum has to make some comments at the moment.
Fabricio Werdum's career
The news about Werdum's pension comes almost four years away from his last, traditional MMA fight. In 2021, former PFL heavyweight champion Renan Ferreira, initially, fought by TKO before the fight was destroyed to a contest result.
Werdum's most recent fight was on without gloves when the Brazilian Junior Dos Santos Rematch in September 2023 under the GameBred Bareknuckle MMA banner. Werdum would lose in a bloody unanimous decision.
During 35 professional fights, Fabricio defeated people like Fedor Emeliansko, Cain Velasquez, Mark Hunt, Antonio Silva, Alexander Gustafsson and more.
Werdum was one of a powerful pair of Brazilians who won the UFC heavyweight title, together with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Junior Dos Santos. The 47-year-old made his pro-debut in 2002 and his UFC debut in 2007.
