Earlier this week, Khabib Nurmagomedov reignited his feud with Conor McGregor as he destroyed the landscape of Irish MMA.
Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor engaged in one of the biggest feuds in combat sports history in 2018, one that still resonates in the MMA world today.
Since retiring from competition, Nurmagomedov has turned his attention to coaching. Later this month, his cousin Usman Nurmagomedov will defend his Bellator lightweight title against Irishman Paul Hughes.

Darren Till fires back at Khabib Nurmagomedov after his comments
With that fight quickly approaching, it's constantly being touted as Russia vs. Ireland 2. And Khabib disagrees with that idea, stating that Ireland “has no fighters.”
Of course, Russia is one of the most dominant regions in MMA as it continues to breed champions, with 'The Notorious' McGregor being the only Irish champion to achieve a major promotion.
Despite this, 'Big News' Hughes responded to Nurmagomedov's claim that Ireland has no fighters by saying: “Just wait and see.”
Hughes isn't the only one to dispute Khabib's words, however, as former UFC star Darren Till has also backed the state of Irish MMA and fired back at the Russian.
“I have always respected Khabib and his team very much, they are fantastic fighters. But if he continues to sit there and say the fighters from Ireland are low level compared to the size of the countries and production, Ireland is actually way ahead,” Till explained in a tweet on X.
“Ireland is so damn small and Russia is so damn big. Ireland has produced great fighters over the years. I would have said the country is slightly bigger than manufacturing and the country that Ireland wins every time. And this is not my bias because I am neither friendly with Khabib's side nor with Ireland's side. I'm just expressing my opinion,” he continued.

Darren Till ready for comeback in martial arts
Since leaving the UFC in 2022, 'The Gorilla' has struggled to stay active in combat sports as he wanted to enter the world of influencer boxing to make some money before potentially returning to the UFC.
The former welterweight title challenger has fought just once since in an exhibition boxing bout, which was unceremoniously ended after he and Mohammad Mutie got into a fight after the fight ended.
Despite this, Till will make his Misfits Boxing debut against former Bellator fighter Anthony Taylor on January 18 after Tommy Fury pulled out of his scheduled fight against Till.
