The fight was left by the referee, without a count, as soon as Pedro's opponent hit the canvas

“This is the smallest crowd I fought in a long time, but it is the greatest fight of my life. Thank you everyone for f— comes, “Pedro said during an interview after fighting with Stan Sport.

“The journey we are going is supposed to be and considered impossible … Thank you to everyone who supported and believed in me.

“You have no idea how difficult this is and now I want to make my mission to represent Australia and my culture on the world stage for my family. I know I looked pretty calm, but I haven't slept for a while, there has been busy.

“Everyone said I was crazy because I had left the UFC, so now to do it … I'm so proud of myself. I went through hell to get here, I am quite overwhelmed at the moment and I will probably cry in the room in a minute. “

Why did Tyson Pedro retire from MMA?

Pedro withdrew from MMA with a 10-5 professional record after a unanimous loss of decision for Vitor Petrino at UFC Vegas 87 in March 2024.

After he has his UFC run with mass back-to-back victories on Khalil Rountree Jr. And Paul Craig had started, the favorite of Aussie Fan 4-5 went into the Octagon before he brought his MMA career to a premature end.

So why did he retire? Pedro says his decision was motivated by family and financial considerations.

“You have submitted all the costs, delivered the costs for my family, I probably just can't do it anymore,” he said reporters during his UFC Vegas 87 Post-Fight Press Conference.

“With the deductions and the loss of the fight tonight, I will probably have to rob someone in the parking lot. So if someone has money on it. Who has the most? “

Pedro added: “It has been a bit in my mind lately. Especially, I just like my daughter. I have probably been away for 12 months in the past two and a half years from my wife and baby. That is clearly my choice that goes to New -Zeeland [to train]. I know that I will be the best mixed war artist there.

“It is certainly more of a family. I have a change in dreams, so if I do that, I might as well spend my daughter. Who knows you might see me on the Australian circuit, but that's it for me for MMA. “
