'White Kong' went 3-4 in the UFC before he said goodbye to the promotion last year after his contract had passed.
Going to the UFC is one thing, but as an undefeated prospect that was cut before he recently discovered his debut, there is a completely different task.
Even high -level fighters will leave the Octagon for various reasons, but there are other feasible options for top athletes.
The PFL has been set for a large year in 2025 after announcing important changes in their format in the future that show that they have listened to what fans want.
While UFC fans hope that the British Superster Dakota Dittcheva will make the switch at some point in the near future, a fellow Brit has gone in the opposite direction while Jake Hadley is preparing to make his PFL debut in the coming weeks.
Jake Hadley says he was cut from the UFC for three days because he did not fight Igor Severino in the short term
Jake Hadley's relationship with the UFC did not start well, because he was almost not signed through the Contender Series of Dana White, despite the fact that he had done an impressive performance.
The former Cage Warriors Flyweight Champion missed the weight prior to the fight with White that also stated that Hadley had caused some problems backstage, but he addressed this to offer the Brit a contract.
After he had gone 3-4 in the Octagon, 'White Kong' was announced that he had signed at the PFL where he will participate in the Bantamweight World Tournament of the Promotion with his debut on 11 April against Sarvarjon Khamidov.
Hadley spoke in a recent interview with Home of Fight about his relationship with the UFC in the time he spent with the promotion.
The 28-year-old revealed that he was once cut out of the selection for a three-day period after he had rejected a fight in the short term.
“I probably can't talk about it, but whatever, I'm going like that. The UFC cut me to reject a fight in the short term and then they signed me again, so it was probably not the best relationship ever.”
Hadley further said that before he got the fight, he had completed a Dexa scan with the UFC so that they knew he would have trouble making flying weight during a quick turnaround.
The fight in question would have seen him on March 23 of the Igor Severino of Brazil, which was linked to Andre Lima instead.
In that fight, the debuting Severino was disqualified for biting his opponent with the 21-year signature for European promotion Oatsagonon after he was cut from the UFC and a fine.
“That actual fight where that guy bit that other man, I had to fight that fight and it was in the short term and the UFC already knew that I had a bit of struggles when it was.
“When I turned it off, it comes into a big problem and whatever, I was cut for a few days and I came back there, but I don't hold anything to them. What is a company. I mean, I would have killed that geeker, even in the short term … He would probably have bitten me who would probably have been an easy victory and an extra 50 Grand so I would like me.”
Jake Hadley can start fresh as Igor Severino has
Although Jake Hadley's UFC exit was much less controversial than that of Igor Severino, both men can reinvent themselves in new promotions.
Severino already started to do that in Octagon, where after a big victory he will fight for his debut for the vacant Bantamweight title Next Time Out on 26 April.
Hadley has a heavy opposition in the Bantamweight tournament of the PFL with a difficult start against the 16-0 Khamidov.
However, this is his chance to start things on a much better foot than his time in the UFC where their relationship was on thin ice from the start.
