There is no doubt that Poirier, who will end his career against Max Holloway for the BMF belt on UFC 318, is one of the greatest light weights of all time.

Brian Shaw says he is much too big for Dustin Poirier

In 2021, 4x the world's strongest man, Brian Shaw, Dustin Poirier met to do some training.

During their session, the UFC veteran succeeded in having the legend tap. According to Shaw, however, that is not a reflection of what would happen in a real-life scenario.

In an episode of Bradley Martyn's Raw Talk, the powerhouse explained: “Me and Poirier, we did some things, just started in a few positions. One, I had to get up, which I could get up, and then he jumped on my back and got in a choke.

“But if I really tried to be mean, I would just have jumped up and fallen back. I clearly don't want to hurt him at all.

“I didn't know what I was doing at all, but I just lie on top of him, crushed him. At one point there is skill versus just full size.

“If you are on the wall and I could get you on the wall and get where I wanted to go, it is almost game, especially if I have so much size and weight benefit. I would only have to do, I just get wrist control, and I am only at the top. Nothing is that can be done.”
