Frank’s ‘charisma’ to guide Spurs to top five finish, predicts Gordon Smart

A revitalized Tottenham Hotspur under former Brentford manager Thomas Frank will break into the top five of the Premier League next season, has predicted Omroep Gordon Smart.

Smart spoke with Mark Clattenburg on the Podcast of the mail's whistleblowers and claimed that the 'charisma and personality' of Frank, in combination with a number of cunning summer transfer, could see Spurs come back between the elite parties of the competition.

Under the Australian manager Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham has passed a disastrous league campaign in the previous term, just above the relegation zone in seventeenth.

The club has now turned to the Danish manager Frank, who has built up a solid reputation at Brentford for the development of teams that are difficult to beat with a limited budget.

Tottenham has been added to a feeling of renewed optimism and has been active in the summer transfer window and spent a club record of £ 120 million on Mohammed Kudus, Mathys Tel and Croatian defensive prodigy Luka Vuskovic.

“This year I have a funny feeling about Tottenham,” Smart told the podcast.

'I don't know if this is controversial, but I believe Tottenham could crack fifth – purely based on the personality and charisma of Thomas Frank.

'I think Frank the fans will galvanize and they have done a good business this summer. If they can crack, it is feasible.

'I felt that ange just deliberately thrown away at Christmas last year. The point was that you stay focus on Europe on Europe.

'Also keep it in mind, Heung Min Son was wounded a lot last season. His game depends on so fit and fast. That is apparently back and he is one of the best strikers in the competition. '

Former referee Clattenburg was skeptical about Gordon's prediction and claimed that although Frank Spurs could make 'more structured', from the 17th to fifth in one season is a mountain to climb.

'Tottenham has never recovered from losing the goals of Harry Kane, son is not the same type of player.

“While I get the new manager Bounce and Frank's Tactic Nous, I can't see them go from the 17th to the fifth.”

Special guest and chelsea – influencer Rory Jennings was unbelieving and called Smart's analysis 'absolutely wild'.

Jennings said: 'They missed Morgan Gibbs-white, son, even if he comes back to full fitness, will probably never be the same player again.

“Seriously, when Thomas Frank Tottenham brings to the fifth, he is appointed manager of the year.”

Nottingham Forest game maker Morgan Gibbs-White once had a deal with Tottenham for their owner, Evangelos Marinkas threatened legal steps to block the move.

Gibbs-White now seems firm off the table and signs a Bumper New Deal with Forest to keep it in the club for the next season.

Smart then doubled his daring prediction, in the conviction of the rivals of Tottenham such as Newcastle and Aston Villa, drops will suffer in shape.

Both Newcastle and Villa have had difficult transfer windows, with their editions Hamstrung by FFP (Financial Fair Play).

'Look at the teams around Tottenham for the seventh, eight place. I think Spurs will surprise people – wait. '
