Fresh Premier League side join Barcelona in Luis Diaz transfer race

Barcelona will not be undisputed in their potential summer transferring for Liverpool star Luis Diaz.

Liverpool sails to the Premier League title in the first season of Arne Slot on Merseyside, but his team photo remains unclear for 2025/26.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah all still without obligation about contract extensions, the Dutch coach has put his plans on hold.

As soon as decisions have been made on the trio, Slot will have a stronger idea about who he can count, with Darwin Nunez also tipped to leave.

When Salah continues, that cold strengthens its determination to keep Diaz in Anfield, despite the long -standing interest of Barcelona in the Colombians.

Liverpool is happy with Diaz and wants to keep him in the club, but they still have to reach an agreement about a new contract, with his current deal about Merseyside that expires in 2027.

It means that if Liverpool decides to sell Diaz, this summer it is their last chance to do this before being confronted with the prospect of accepting a lower fee in 2026, or losing him for free in a sausage case scenario in 2027.

According to reports from Transfer Guru Fabrizio Romano, Diaz has a 'concrete option' to leave Liverpool this summer.

Romano claims that Diaz was already the subject of approaches from the Saudi Pro League and the Arch -Rivalen in Liverpool Manchester City last summer.

Links to Saudi Aarabia remain in place, but Diaz would rather stay in Europe, with earlier hints from his camp during an ambition to play for Barcelona.

According to a new update from Teamtalk.com, however, Mikel Arteta is considering a daring offer for Diaz at Arsenal – despite the fact that this season is the best title challengers of Liverpool.

Arteta is concerned about continuous injury problems and target numbers in his current attacking options, and the versatile Diaz would solve that, whereby the former Porto -wing player all his goal matches a total of 13 of 2023/24.
