Southampton held Fulham to a 0-0 draw at Craven Cottage in their first Premier League match since the departure of manager Russell Martin.
The home side controlled large parts of the match but the Saints, watched from the stands by new manager Ivan Juric, produced a resolute defensive display on Sunday to keep their opponents out.
The Cottagers were limited to speculative attempts in the first half as Harry Wilson and Alex Iwobi tried their luck without success.
However, they came closest in the 67th minute when Wilson's close-range effort was kept out by returning Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Adama Traore came off the bench in the second half and was inches away from making the breakthrough in the dying minutes, but the visitors held on for their first point since the 1-1 draw with Brighton last month.
While Southampton remain at the bottom of the table with six points from seventeen games, Fulham moved up to ninth place with 25 points.

Data debrief: Fulham's scoring streak ends
Heading into Sunday's match, Fulham have scored in each of their last fifteen Premier League matches, with a 1-0 opening defeat to Manchester United being the only game in which they had failed to find the back of the net.
However, Southampton, who had conceded 36 goals in 16 matches, put in an organized performance to break the Cottagers' scoring streak.
But the Saints will be hoping to improve their attacking squad under new boss Juric as they recorded just one shot on target in London, generating an xG of 0.26 from five attempts during the match.
Fulham, meanwhile, registered 16 shots, five of which were on target, and failed to score despite an xG of 1.04.
