Competition report
A little quality competition was settled with a huge part of the fortune when the attack by Martinez from 30 meters via Sasa Lukic and over Bernd Leno went into the Fulham goal.
It was the only shot on goal for the men of Ruben Amorim, who would otherwise have failed to really hurt their opponents, but Amad Diallo was excluded late in second place, giving the goal on the field, but after A VAR assessment for offside was reversed.
However, Fulham had not created much himself, until Joachim Andersen saw a thunderous header in a stunning way in the final phase in a stunning way by substitute Toby Collyer.
United had only one attempt in a forgetful first half, in which a few Alex Iwobi Stingers were the only thing that Fulham had to show for their efforts.
Bruno Fernandes put a low free kick in the side net, while the second half followed a similar pattern until Martinez tried his happiness from a distance and saw his attempt passing over Leno via Lukic.
Collyer brilliantly headed the fast header of Andersen from the corner of Andrea Pereira van de Lijn, while Fulham thought they had a late equalizer.
United then thought that they had doubled the lead through Diallo to deep in injury time, but his low drive in the lower right corner was rejected due to offside.

Data Debrief: Martinez loves his travel comfort for the Red Devils
Martinez was an unlikely hero for United in Craven Cottage with what was only his third Premier League goal, all from Old Trafford.
The Red Devils now scored 68 percent of their Premier League goals in the second half this season, with only Leicester City having a higher percentage (72 percent).
It may not have been the best season for United, but in addition to Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United, they are one of the four teams that will not suffer any defeat this season if they are 1-0 in the Premier League.
Moreover, they have won each of their last eight away games in the Premier League against Fulham. This victory was only their third in their last twenty league matches in London (D5 L12), in which all three wins in this period at Craven Cottage (also 2-1 in November 2022 and 1-0 in November 2023).
