Fulham found ‘different way’ to win at Wolves, says Silva

Marco Silva was happy with the control that Fulham showed in their 2-1 victory over Wolves to go to the ninth in the Premier League table.

The men of Silva took the lead within the first minute when Ryan Sessegnon scored his first Premier League goal since he returned to the club after he had gone through Andreas Pereira.

Wolves responded well to trimming and returned to the terms of level through the third goal of Joao Gomes of the campaign.

But Fulham made an equally strong start of the second half and went on again when Rodrigo Muniz defeated the goalkeeper with a beautiful demolished finish to give them their first victory in Molineux since 1985, and their very first in the Premier League.

The visitors managed to limit wolves to few opportunities after they had gone in front again, whereby the hosts only manage two on-target efforts in the second half, and Silva liked to see another side of the game of Fulham.

He said to TNT -Sport: “We scored early in the second half and checked the game in a different way than we normally. We didn't have much of the ball until the last 15 minutes, when we had some chances to kill it game.”

“But they didn't have one chance in the second half. I think we really did well. In some times we have to win games as we have won tonight.”

Sessegnon and Muniz were both transmitted and took their goals brilliant, with Silva who praised their contributions.

He said, “Ryan [Sessegnon] Has that capacity to get to the right place at the right moments and to be there. A great finish for him. You can see many moments of the training field.

“What a goal of Rodrigo, great game. He is at a very good time, great moments of him and Raul [Jimenez]It's hard for me to decide. “

The opener of Sessegnon for Fulham After 58 seconds was the earliest goal that Wolves admitted in the Premier League, because Jack Grealisk yielded against them for Manchester City in Molineux in September 2022 (55 seconds).

So far, wolves have lost more Premier League home matches than any other non-promoted side this season (nine), and Vitor Pereira was disappointed about the way his side started both halves, as they allowed in the first two minutes of both to send itself against another defeat.

He said TNT Sports: “If you start a game that gives a goal like us, and you go for the second half, and you give in a different goal as we did, we have to look at ourselves and correct what we have to correct.

“We lost the chance to win three important points, and now we have to start working on the mistakes and to correct.”
