Earlier this week, agent Jorge Mendes confirmed that his client Lamine Yamal would sign a new contract with Barcelona. His existing contract, which was signed in the summer of 2023, expires in 2026, although there will be no danger involved.
According to Diario AS, Barcelona has had a plan regarding Lamine Yamal's contract for some time now. He could only sign a three-year contract in 2023, because that is the maximum contract duration that a player under the age of 18 can sign. However, it was pre-arranged that the 17-year-old sensation would continue until 2030 once he reaches that age.
Lamine Yamal has been linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain in recent months, although in reality there is little to no chance of him leaving Barcelona anytime soon – even despite the fact that his sale would help significantly improve the club's finances. He is the poster boy for Catalonia, and he will remain so for a while.
