Gakpo hints why Slot is getting more out of Liverpool stars than Klopp

Cody Gakpo has revealed why the stars of Liverpool might have beaten the Gound and were kicked under Arne Slot.

The Dutchman led the Reds to the top of the Premier League and Champions League earlier in his term of office after he came to the club in the summer. Slot replaced Jurgen Klopp on Merseyside, where the German coach ended his time with Liverpool by winning a victory from the Carabao Cup, but finished third in the top of the top, only in the season before the season.

Liverpool has an advantage of six points compared to the second place Arsenal in the Premier League and holds a match at hand over the Gunners. The Reds are also in the semi -final of the Carabao Cup and compete to retain their victory from 2023/24.

The 46-year-old slot started a lightning until 2024/25, despite the fact that only one player was added to the Klopp team last year. Federico Chiesa participated in the summer, but has had a limited impact so far.

The will of Ryan Gravenberch, however, flourished under the supervision of Slot and has transformed his status into the side. Nederlands International Gakpo has claimed that the Syste Syste in fact fits more with the midfield stars of Liverpool than that of its predecessor.

“This process of course started under Klopp. Now Slot is building on that foundation,” said Gakpo in the Players' grandstand.

“He is a very sober manager. Very calm, composed. You can talk to him about football, life, everything. He is so good tactical and I think we fit well in his system. If you look at our midfield Curtis [Jones]Ryan [Gravenberch]Dominic [Szoboszlai]Wataru [Endo]” [Harvey] Elliott, Alexis [Mac Allister] – They are all complete midfielders.

“They can do it all: run, win duels and find each other between the lines. We would play a long ball with Klopp and then fight, but now that we play with more patience, and shorter fit, you can fully see how much quality us midfield.

Gakpo's Club and International Team-Mate Gravenberch have previously discussed his positional transformation and also a call from Slot who has set up his Liverpool career on a new path.

“I have indeed started playing more defensively,” said Gravenberch Soccer News. “Last year I got ahead more often, but now I have to think more defensively. That change happened fairly quickly.

“I have Virgil behind me to help me. If I move too much, he calls me back. “Rio, stay here!” I notice that he has to call less and less often and that I concentrate more on defending. At attack I try to read the game. That often works well. “

“The coach called all players for a lecture. After the European championship he called me to tell him how he saw me, Gravenberch added.” Of course he knew me from my time at Ajax when he was with AZ and Feyenoord.

“He told me in what position he wanted to use me and he put me at six o'clock. I went on with an open mind. I played a lot at eight o'clock and when I was younger at six o'clock.

“That helps, but now other things are asked of me. In the youth I could continue. At the time there was no Virgil that called me back! '
