Galatasaray miss out on signing of Barcelona attacker

Barcelona did not make any changes to their first team team during the winter transfer window, which was a relief for head coach Hansi Flick, although he wanted to get Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United. The most important thing, however, was that none of the counted players were left, and this included Pau Victor.

There has been a lot of uncertainty about Victor in the last six weeks, since he and Dani Olmo saw their La Liga registration expired at the end of December. However, Barcelona was able to register for the time being after a precautionary measure of the higher sports council (CSD), although this could be withdrawn as the profession submitted by La Liga and the Spanish football federation, is successful.

Moreover, there was speculation that Victor was able to leave on loan during the winter transfer window due to a lack of first team finances, although this option was rejected. That was bad news for Galatasaray, who would have liked to bring in the young Spanish striker, as reported by Sport.

Despite the fact that they already had Victor in Mauro Icardi, Victor Osimhen and Alvaro Morata, Galatasaray also wanted to sign Victor – it is not clear whether they hoped to take advantage of the situation with his registration, or whether the intention was pure negotiating with Barcelona. Nevertheless, it doesn't matter much now, because he stayed in Catalonia.

Barcelona has high expectations of Victor, despite his lack of fame in the first team in recent months. They want to play an important role between now and the end of the season, and given that he can operate on both wings and as a striker, he should have opportunities to appear regularly.
