Gary Neville predicts when Ange Postecoglou will be sacked by Tottenham amid dismal run of form

Gary Neville has given his opinion about the future of Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham Boss.

Postecoglou, 59, has been toughly examined in the last few weeks in the midst of the gloomy season of Spurs, where his side has lost eight of their last 10 Premier League matches.

Tottenham is currently 15th in the table, 17 points on drift of the top four with 13 defeats in general.

The besieged boss plummeted to new depths on Sunday when Spurs at home with 2-1 was defeated by Leicester, who came to the back of a loss of seven games.

Postecoglou, who claimed that he 'always wins things in the second season', has been helped by Spurs' form in cup competitions.

His side is currently sixth in the Europa League League phase table and well placed to automatically qualify for the last 16 phase, while Spurs has a 1-0 lead over Liverpool after the first stage of their semi-final of the Carabao Cup And are the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The second stage of the Carabao Cup -Stropdas will take place next Thursday in Anfield, while Spurs then travel to Villa in the FA Cup on Sunday.

And Neville, speaking on the stick to the football podcast, brought by Sky Bet, emphasized the importance of those games and established how the future of Postecoglou can be decided.

“I think if he loses the second stage from the Carabao Cup to Liverpool, and he leaves the FA Cup to villa, I think it will be so toxic that Daniel Levy will act,” he said.

'If they are out of the cup competitions, I think he will act. If they are in the cup matches, I think he could [stay].

'[Levy] I can't do it now for the cup matches, the fans will kill him. '

Fortunately for Postecoglou, the Spurs chairman Levy is mainly on the receiving side of supporters' anger – and Wayne Rooney jumped despite the struggles of his party against the defense of the Australian.

“Some managers you look at, they annoy you,” said the former Plymouth boss. 'But with Postecoglou I think it's great how honest he is. We [at Man United] Had it with Louis van Gaal, sometimes you can be too honest and it comes back to kill you.

“With Ange, injuries have absolutely killed him. I don't think it's just about trophies [for fans]The Fall-off this season is what nobody has seen coming.

“If Spurs were consistently in the top four and would come to the semi -final and the final, I would have thought they would be very satisfied.”

In the meantime, speaking after Sunday's defeat by Leicester, Postecoglou admitted that Tottenham was as low as during his supervisor time and that he did not know if he would have the time to save the season.

“Who knows (if I will have the time to turn it around),” he said. 'I think there is probably a reasonable piece that will say no.

'If you are the manager of a football club, you can be very vulnerable and isolated. I don't feel that. I feel that this group of players, not for me, gives everything for the club. I have a group of employees who have really been committed. I concentrate on that.

'I can even see in training when the boys who come back will give everyone a lift. There is a fantastic opportunity this season to make real impact, and I know we can.

'But in terms of the question, is there something that I can say that everything will change that I have to do tomorrow morning? Nothing.'

Spurs are back in action on Thursday evening when they organize Elfsborg in the Europa League before they travel to Brentford on Sunday.
