Gary Neville slams Spurs after TWO Fraser Forster howlers gave Man United hope in the Carabao Cup quarter-final

Gary Neville has beaten Tottenham after two errors from Fraser Forster gave Manchester United a route back to the Carabao Cup quarter-final.

Tottenham looked to be cruising after taking a 3-0 lead through a Dominic Solanke brace, either side of Dejan Kulusevski's effort.

Man United were handed lifelines by Tottenham after careless mistakes by goalkeeper Forster.

Forster's attempted pass to Radu Dragusin in his own penalty area was disallowed for the first time, allowing Joshua Zirkzee to pull a goal back for Man United in the 63rd minute.

Tottenham's shot-stopper was at fault again for the Red Devils' second six minutes later.

Forster was caught on the ball by Amad Diallo, with the Man United star scoring from close range to set up a nerve-wracking end to the quarter-final.

“One of the most Tottenham things you'll see,” ex-Man United star Neville told Sky Sports after Forster's second mistake.

'United can smell blood, but oh dear Fraser, he thinks he has an age, but Amad finishes with astonishing tenacity.

'It's brilliant from Amad, but so bad from Spurs and it's now 20 minutes for them and United are now favourites?

'Two terrible mistakes from Forster, they really are and Spurs would have known they weren't safe at 3-0, but they never are.'

Tottenham briefly restored their two-goal cushion after a mistake by Man United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir allowed Son Heung-min to score straight from a corner.

Johnny Evans pulled a goal back from a corner in stoppage time to reduce the deficit to 4-3, but Tottenham eventually held on to reach the semi-finals.

“What a strange game when there's football, lots of mistakes, goalkeepers everywhere and Spurs come through in the end,” Neville added.

'You felt it was a big night for Postecoglou and Spurs and maybe that's what got them over the line in the end.'

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp added that Tottenham had delivered a 'masterclass in how not to watch a match' despite reaching the last four.

“First of all, the big result for Tottenham gets them to the semi-finals, but absolutely crazy,” Redknapp added.

'But how often do we see that with them? I mean, the manager, I don't know how he does it. Sometimes he may pull out his hair, but he needs to do more.

“It was pure madness at times, but the chaos was so much fun.”
