Genoa 1-2 Napoli: Anguissa and Rrahmani lift Conte’s side to Serie A summit

Napoli became top of the Serie A after a 2-1 victory over Genoa at Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris.

With Atalanta only in action on Sunday, Antonio Conte's side took advantage as first-half headers from Frank Anguissa and Amir Rrahmani lifted La Dea to the top of Serie A.

The Partenopei broke the deadlock after fifteen minutes, when Anguissa rose and nodded home David Neres' cross.

Just eight minutes later it was 2-0, when Rrahmani met Stanislav Lobotka's deep cross and headed a header over Genoa goalkeeper Nicola Leali.

The hosts responded six minutes after the break to halve the deficit, when Vitinha hit the ball back for Andrea Pinamonti to fire home.

Genoa later pushed for the equalizer. Substitutes Mario Balotelli and Caleb Ekuban were denied by Alex Meret, who retained all three points for Conte's side.
