The Cameo of Georges St-Pierre in the Hockey Game of the US versus Canada preceded three wild fights that probably impressed the former Welterweight champion.
The presence of UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre was one of the few things that US and Canada Hockey fans could unite during the 4 Nations competition on Saturday.
Only a few minutes after St-Pierre Team introduced Canada, and after the American national anthem was pronounced by spectators, three fights broke out that probably reminded St-Pierre of his fighting prime.
Since he withdrew from MMA after winning a second UFC world championship, St-Pierre has embraced the love for fans around the world in awe for his illustrious career. He is perhaps one of the greatest UFC hunters of all time, in which colleagues such as BJ Penn, Matt Hughes and Nick Diaz dismantle.
Before the officials in the US US. Canada dropped, St-Pierre got the crowd confused and enthusiastic about one of the greatest games in the history of legendary rivalry. But while fans of the US and Canada applauded the presence of St-Pierre, it didn't take long before things became ugly on the ice.
Georges St-Pierre got a chair in the front row for three wild fights in the US US. Canada
It all started when Matthew Tkachuk from Team USA and Brandon Hagel from Team Canada dropped the gloves almost immediately after the opening Puck drop. It was a fight that St-Pierre probably experienced some of his iconic UFC moments.
After cooler heads had only overcome three seconds in the match, Matthew's brother Brady Tkachuk came in with Sam Bennett in Canada and broke a second fight.
To the joy of the US and Canada fans, things didn't stop there. A third fight between JT Miller from Team USA and Colton Parayko from Team Canada broke out, so one of the wildest starts turned into a hockey game that you will ever see.
Unfortunately for Canadian fans, the three early fights were the highlights of the night. Team USA achieved a dominant victory over Team Canada with 3-1, led by two goals from Jake Guentzel and a striking performance by goalkeeper Connor Hellebuyck.
Georges St-Pierre ran away from MMA after colitis diagnosis
After he ended Michael Bisping to become the UFC Middle Weight champion at UFC 217, St-Pierre suggested at least one middleweight title defense before he retired. But St-Pierre was forced to walk away after he was diagnosed with colitis, who abruptly ended his UFC-COMEBACK STUINT.
St-Pierre was briefly connected to a potential superfight with Khabib Nurmagomedov before Nurmagomedov announced his retirement in 2020. He was also linked to a modified boxing match with Oscar de la Hoya.
St-Pierre signed the dotted line for a grabs with Diaz before withdrew due to a health problem. Since 2017, ST-Pierre has not been participating in combat sports since 2017.
St-Pierre entered the UFC Hall of Fame in 2020 after one of the most decorated careers in the Octagon. During his career, he set countless figures, including the most successful title defenses (9) and the most welterweight title fights (12) in the history of UFC.
