Germany comfortably beat Poland to get EURO 2025 campaign up and running

Germany started their UEFA Women's European Championship campaign with a 2-0 win over Poland and achieved a sixth consecutive victory in the trial.

These two countries can be geographical neighbors, but they cannot be much further apart in terms of football tribe. The eight times winners stood for a Poland team that made their debut in the largest stage in Europe, with all the pre-match statistics that seem to indicate a comfortable DFB-Frauteam victory.

Yet there were early chances for both parties, while Klara Bühl tested the water early when her oblique strike became scary wide, before Emilia threw in the box that was unark by Adriana Achcińska's free kick and over the bar.

The end-to-end character of the competition continued and Kinga Szemik was forced in a solid stop at her near Post to Jule Brand. Her German counterpart-Ann-Ann-Ann-Ann-Katrin Berger-Was almost a little later involved in a sticky situation, but let her blush spared by the flag of De Lijnman after she had donated the ball to Natalia Padilla for a one-on-one chance.

It was a challenging first half in front of Christian Wück, who Lost Captain Giulia Gwinn to an injury after her excellent last handle tackle to deny Ewa Pajor.

Germany had a long -term pressure spell after the break, but was well manipulated by the defensively drilled outfit of Nina Patalon.

Something special seemed to be necessary to break the impasse, and it came through the brand in the 52nd minute. It was her first goal at a big tournament, and the first of Germany in the women's euros from outside the box since 2017. Carlotta Wamser played in the midfielder of Wolfsburg, who unleashed a strike from the left of Szemik.

Somehow, Sjoeke Nüsken was unable to double their lead when she was inexplicably wide range of point-white reach after meeting Bühl's Kruis.

Brand added an assist to go for her goal in the 68th minute, floating in a wonderful cross for Lea Schüller to nod home and kick the filling out of the courageous posts.

However, they played more than their role in this game, and Berger made an excellent stop to walk away Parry's header from Dominika Gabowska's delivery.

In the end, Germany did enough to claim all three points, but Wück will hope for a more convincing representation of his side when they are opposite Denmark next Tuesday.

In the meantime, this defeat for Poland ends an unbeaten run of 11 games that goes back almost a year. The Patalon team has the chance to bounce back against Sweden – also next Tuesday.
