Girona's summer signings have largely failed to make a significant impact so far this season, with perhaps the best being Bryan Gil, who joined on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. The 23-year-old has been a pillar of strength for head coach Michel Sánchez, and the Catalan club are already considering signing him permanently.
According to Diario AS, they can do that for 15 million euros, as this is the pre-agreed optional purchase clause that was included in last summer's loan agreement. Girona bosses are considering it as they have been impressed with Gil's contributions so far.
Gil is not being counted on at Spurs, so they would like to see Girona activate that buy clause before the end of the season. His contract with the Premier League club expires in 2026, so there could even be a chance that new negotiations could take place next summer, with a view to a reduction in the price the Catalans would have to pay.
