Barcelona expects between now and the end of the summer transfer window to separate with different players. Oriol Romeu, Inaki Pena and Hector Fort are strong candidates to leave, while there is also a chance that Marc Casado will continue.
In the past few days it has arisen that Barcelona is willing to listen to offers for Casado, which is not expected to be prominent in the Hansi Flick side during the 2025-26 campaign. The 21-year-old competes against Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi and Marc Bernal in the defensive midfield positions, making it difficult for him to have consistent minutes.
Marseille has emerged as a freer for Casado alongside Premier League parties Wolves and West Ham United, but interest has also been shown from closer to home. According to RAC1 (via Sport), Girona wants to sign the Pivot on a seasonal loan.
Barcelona is open to the sale of Casado, but there is no desire that a temporary exit is requested – and that is why they have lowered Girona's proposal. It is noted that the player himself is not interested in a movement by Catalonia, especially because he does not think about leaving at all.
Casado is convinced that his ability to recommend a regular starting place in the Barcelona line-up, which is why he has no plans to accept a move-even if the ruling LA Liga champions would accept an offer. That is why it is almost certain that he will not leave before the end of the summer.
Although there are a number of options in the defensive midfield, it should be noted that Bernal will not be able to start matches for some time. Casado will inevitably have his chance to impress, so his confidence is understandable – and also much would be wise to retain his services.
