Former arsenal captain Granit Xhaka closes a sensational return to the Premier League according to the report.
The midfielder left the top flight of England in 2023 when he left the Gunners after 297 performances for the London Club, after in 2016 at the age of 23 -.
In the summer transfer window two years ago, however, he left for Germany and Bayern Leverkusen, where he would win the Bundesliga unbeaten under Xabi Alonso in the 2023-24 campaign.
The season was not that successful last year, in which Leverkusen came in second place in the top flight, and Alonso left for Real Madrid, while star players Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz came to Liverpool.
In the meantime, Xhaka could have been the next player, with the 32-year-old on a surprise Premier League club.
According to athletics, Xhaka has set its heart to sign for Sunderland, with the black cats in negotiations with Leverkusen about a deal for the midfielder.
The report suggests that Xhaka and Sunderland have agreed personal conditions for the Switzerland International to move to the stadium of light, whereby the player himself chooses the club above a number of other vooragers.
Xhaka has left to his contract in Germany for another three years, making a potential deal more difficult. However, he said, however, he asked his current club to find a solution quickly.
The potential movement is a somewhat an eyebrow-raiser, given the importance of Xhaka for a club that competes in both own country and in the Champions League.

However, that was under Unai Emery. Xhaka and the fans rebuilt their relationship under Mikel Arteta and he left for good conditions.
However, he could be confronted twice in his old side in Sunderland and be the newest big name to leave Leverkusen this summer.
Former Manchester United -Baas Erik ten Hag has a major task in terms of reconstruction after losing star players at Leverkusen – after he has replaced Alonso – who will now probably comprise Xhaka.
In the meantime, Xhaka was able to fill a void in Sunderland that had been left by Jowe Bellingham, who left the club earlier in the summer for £ 32 million.
The will of Reinildo, Noah Sadiki and Chemsdine Talbi also became a member of Sunderland this summer.
