Guardiola breaks silence on Grealish as Man City boss makes telling admission

Pep Guardiola claimed that he cannot control the private life of Manchester City players after the expedition of Jack Grealish on a day off, but admitted that the winger is struggling for rhythm.

Grealisk visited a pub in Gorton, two miles from the Etihad Stadium, before he traveled to a social club on Weitside and ended a night in Newcastle on Sunday.

The 29-year-old, who has placed hundreds of pounds behind bars for gamblers, has not started a Premier League-and unused replacement for more than two months in five of the seven games for which he has been available.

“They know what to do,” said Guardiola. 'They have a private life to do what they want. I'm not going to determine what they do in their private life.

'I rate what I see on the field, the training sessions and the versions in the game. That is where I assess the players.

“Of course I want to be at his best, but he had setbacks and did not play, but that was sometimes for the injuries, he couldn't get the rhythm that you need to be ready every three days.”

Asked if Grealisk could leave in the summer transfer window, Guardiola said: 'He is a player for Man City. What happens? I don't know what will happen.

'What happens in terms of Jack, in terms of everyone, will be treated at the end of the season. But now we play for many important things for the club. '

City goes to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, knowing that the victory will move them to the third and four points behind Arsenal for their journey to Manchester United.

Guardiola confirmed that Nathan Ake joins John Stones and Manuel Akanji on the sidelines until at least May after an ankle operation – the city with three central defenders for the rest of the season.

The Catalan wants to use the Club World Cup in June as an extensive holiday after a difficult year that is placed due to constant injury problems.

“They told me that the golf courses are really fun in America,” Guardiola said. 'If my back allows it, I will absolutely play.

'I draw the ball really well. I have a problem placing, but I will practice. We are going to try to enjoy that experience, after 11 months I am not thinking of giving the players there to spend hours in their room thinking about the next game.

'They are going to train, but I let them be free. Of course they have to behave well, otherwise they will be in trouble, but you must have fun and play the games as well as possible for this new experience. '
