Pep Guardiola entered the controversy of Jude Bellingham and called on that Champions League rivals Real Madrid only leave referees behind.
Bellingham stood in the center of a storm after he was sent by referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero during the weekend for error and offensive language against Osasuna.
The Spanish referee accused the former Wonderkid of Birmingham City of screaming 'F *** You' in his direction, while Bellingham expressed his frustration.
Nevertheless, Bellingham's report on the scenario is different, with the 21-year-old adamant that he said 'f *** off'. He also claimed that the language used was in frustration in itself, instead of the competition officer.
The Madrid hierarchy is supposed to have accused accused officials of bias and have met Liga's referee (CTA), according to reports in Spain.
In anticipation of Los Blancos' Champions League play-off second stage with Manchester City, Guardiola has emphasized that the way in which Bellingham used the language is the key.
“My English is good, but I don't understand the difference between F *** Off and F *** U,” said Guardiola. 'But what is important is the intention, not the insult. It is best not to do it and leave the referees in peace.
“There have always been decisions. You should ask Jude what his intention was. That's what it's all about.
'Maybe you can insult someone with a great smile on your face and that wouldn't be that bad, right? I read that there is an investigation – wow. Come on. Leave him (the referee) alone. '
The city of traveling to the Bernabeu on Wednesday, knowing that they must destroy a shortage of the first stage to qualify for the round of 16.
Istvan Kovacs from Romania will take the lead over the modern 'Clasico' of European football between the last two Champions League winners.
Despite the red card row of Bellingham, Guardiola did not feel that it is necessary to remind his players to be respectful for Kovacs and his team of officials in Madrid.
“For the referee when there is research, they stand for all of Europe and all over the world,” Guardiola continued.
'There is the person who wants to perform well because it's not just you and I [who see them]It is the entire planet.
“That's why the decisions they make, they want to be good. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not, but I don't think they will feel the pressure.
'I rarely talk about referees with my players. I usually don't know who the referee will be. This morning I did not talk to the team about that and I assure you that it will not happen tomorrow nor tomorrow. '
City has not left the Champions League since 2012-2013 when they were eliminated in the group stage.
The side of Guardiola confronted with Real Madrid in five of the last six seasons and won in just one of those tires in the Bernabeu.
