Guardiola confirms that Kyle Walker has asked to LEAVE Man City

Pep Guardiola has revealed that Manchester City captain Kyle Walker has asked to leave the club.

Walker was left out of Man City's squad for their dominant 8-0 win over Salford in the FA Cup third round.

Guardiola revealed after the match that Walker had asked to leave the club two days before the match.

“Two days ago, Kyle asked to explore the possibilities of playing abroad and ending his career,” Guardiola said.

Walker has made nine starts in 15 Premier League games for City this season but has been left out of the team in recent weeks.

Questions have been raised over Walker's future in Manchester amid problems both on and off the pitch, with the right-back being linked with a possible move to a Saudi Pro League side.

The six-time Premier League champions signed a new three-year contract with the club last year, running until 2026, but could now leave the club.
