The upcoming Premier League season will have felt half of the world away for Pep Guardiola, while last night he won Oasis Melodies alongside his daughter Maria during the homecoming performance of the iconic band.
Guardiola, 54 and Maria, 24, belonged to the masses in Heaton Park on Friday evening when Oasis first played in their hometown Manchester in more than 16 years.
The boss of Manchester City laughed even more at city fans than he already has after a video of him who does not look back on Burowing Out next to Maria Circuled Online.
Noel and Liam Gallagher are huge city fans themselves and, as well as regularly attending games at Etihad, have even when designing a cooperation kit between the club and the oasis in the past seasons.
For the brothers, Guardiola will forever live in their memories after he has delivered a Champions League trophy and six Premier League titles during his time in City so far.
But Guardiola seems to be just as big as an oasis fan like the Gallaghers are his.
The Spanish tactician, who wore a retro man City shirt at the performance, received VIP access to the show and even posed for a photo next to the Van Noel and Liam family.
A backstage -snap showed Noel's sons Noel's sons Donovan and Sonny alongside Liam's daughter Anais, with Pep sandwiched between Liam's Boygen and Lennon.
Guardiola was even honored on stage when Noel played next to a cardboard recess of the city gaffer for the 80,000-member crowd.
Liam even dedicated his interpretation of D'Ily knows what I mean about Guardiola and told fans to listen while he said: “I would like to devote this to the greatest manager of all time, Mr Pep Guardiola.”
While the frontman also started praying against the manager, bending and lowering his back while his hands are lifted.
His antics were confronted with anger from small pockets of the crowd – probably man utd fans – who were less than impressed.
But everyone was more than happy to just roll with it like a choir of laughter, was released when Noel joked: “Who you f *** ing Booing, who f *** ing Booing?”
Guardiola will have enjoyed his last break before he has to slide away from the pleasure and go back into the swing of things when the city returns for the preseason.
City players have a long -term break before being put together again for training after they participated this summer in the new renewed Club World Cup in the US.
Guardiola's silk face Italian club Palermo in their only friendly on Saturday 9 August.
Then they start their bid to regain the Premier League title with a trip to Wolves on Saturday 16 August.
