Guardiola refuses to criticise fans protesting against club’s ticketing policy

Pep Guardiola has supported the rights of Manchester City's supporters to protest against the club's ticket policy prior to a demonstration on Wednesday.

City Fan Groups are planning to stay away from their seats for the opening of nine minutes of the match against Leicester City to signal disappointment in decisions about general sales practices and prizes.

Viagogo became the ninth external ticket website used by City after signing a partnership last week, which caused mass criticism.

“Football clubs belong to the people and if people don't agree with something … they can make a legitimate concern about the club,” Guardiola said. 'And the club is open, listens to them and arrives in accordance so that everyone can be satisfied.

'Imagine going to the stadium without fans, it would not make sense. Our task would not make any sense, close the door.

'Of course I have sympathy. They can express what they want. The club does not take it [this issue] as a matter of course. '
