Guimaraes mocks Fernandes with four-word taunt after goal vs Man Utd

Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes seemed to mock his namesake Fernandes after he had delivered the fourth goal of Newcastle's 4-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday.

The magpies showed their class as they continue their urge for a top five finish in the Premier League, to fourth place with the potential to become third if they win their match against Crystal Palace later this week.

It has again been a successful season for the side of Eddie Howe, who lifted their first big trophy in 70 years with their Carabao Cup victory and appear to be in the Champions League for another year next season.

On Sunday the team saw their quality show, even though Howe was in the hospital, a Rout from United, with 4-1 won with goals from Sandro Tonali and Guimaraes, as well as a brace from Harvey Barnes.

But fans with eagle's eyes saw more than just the goal of Guimaraes – it was also his feast that attracted attention.

The midfielder and Newcastle captain seemed to mock his opposite skipper, run to the corner flag and point to the ground and the back of his shirt.

He also seemed to say something, with the Brazilian who apparently shouted 'I am the Bruno' repeatedly in the celebration.

He was the best of the two Brunos on the day, so the fourth goal had completed the victory after United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir had given away the ball when he tried to kick it out.

Bayindir, who made his Premier League debut instead of Andre Onana, tried to spread the ball, but kicked him directly to Joelinton, whose header found guimaraes.

Guimaraes then ended calmly before he walked away in the celebration. In the meantime, Fernandes was picked up late in the game and cut a frustrated figure on the sidelines as the struggles of his team continued.

“My teammates – I only get frustrated by them because I know how good they can be,” he told Sky Sports after the game. 'I know how difficult it is to represent this club.

“They want to give so much to the club to win because they know how much they will be reminded if they win something with this club.”

In the meantime, Guimaraes wrote on social media after the game: 'This team, these fans and this stadium! Three very important points and we will continue with our goals. One game at the same time, always. How the boys. Thank you, Jesus, for everything you do in my life. '
