Arsenal has plenty to do the entire rest of the season, because the next term comes into the picture. The Gunners must initially close the campaign, where they hope to at least secure second place in the Premier League.
They are of course still in the Champions League where they take on the Spanish giant Real Madrid. And although there is still a few months left, Arsenal may also have one eye on next season.
The North London side still has to appoint a new sports director after the EDU exit. Transfers can then be overtaken, with a striker directly at the top of the Arsenal shopping list.
There have been some important developments on both fronts in the last 24 hours. So said, view the striking headlines of the Emirates Stadium in the past day:
The hope of Arsenal to sign Alexander Isak seems to be over after he has told his Oogstrong price tag of £ 150 million. Fortunately, it seems that they have already identified a cheaper replacement.
According to the sun, Arsenal Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike follows. The Frenchman scored 19 goals this season and can be available for around £ 60 million.
But Arsenal could be confronted for his services. It is also reported that Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle and Bayern Munich also monitor developments with regard to the future of the 22-year-old.
From a current striker to a former now, in which Arsenal was encouraged to appoint Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a replacement for EDU as sports director. Former Arsenal Anders Limpar said to Sveacasino: “When it comes to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he is a God.
“I would like he would replace Edu in Arsenal, it would be a dream that comes out. First of all, he is an absolute winner. He would never stop until he won. I would be the first to support him who worked behind the scenes in Arsenal, he could bring them to the next level.”
Ibrahimovic currently holds an advisory role in his former club AC Milan, a role that he has had since December 2023. The 43-year-old had only retired in June of the same year.

When Ibrahimovic is tempted for the Emirates, he has a different transfer window to get a grip. The Premier League has announced that there will be two different windows this summer to coincide with the Club World Cup.
It will now be opened on Sunday 1 June to Tuesday 10 June, due to an exceptional registration period with regard to the competition that will then reopen it on Monday 16 June and will close in line with other European competitions on Monday 1 September.
The decisions were made at a Premier League shareholders' meeting on Thursday morning.
