After the signing of the sporty Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal is reportedly made a new offer for the 27-year-old worth almost £ 70 million
Viktor Gyokeres is said to be willing to sacrifice a significant part of his wage to bring his dream to Arsenal. The Gunners close a movement for Gyokees, who scored 97 goals in 102 games since he joined Sporting Lisbon in 2023.
New sports director Andrea Berta has defended Gyokeres for RB Leipzig-striker Benjamin Sesko, where the 27-year-old makes it clear that he wants to make the switch to the Emirates.
And according to a new report from the Portuguese Outlet record, Gyokeres even decided to refrain from € 2 million (£ 1.7 million) of the five-year-old deal he had agreed with Arsenal so that they can increase their bid.
The report states that Arsenal has made a new offer to Sporting worth an initial € 65 million (£ 56 million) plus € 15 million (£ 13 million) in add-ons, with the offer that is reportedly made possible by the decision of Gyokeres.
Arsenal has so far signed two new players this summer, because since 2004 Mikel Arteta wants to guide the club to their first Premier League title, after he finished second in the past three seasons.
Kepa Arrizabalaga has accompanied Chelsea to act as a back -up to David Raya, while midfielder Martin Zubimendi has made a large money movement of Real Sociedad and the Spain International is seen as an important part of Arteta's plans.
“Martin is a player who will bring a huge amount of quality and football information to our team,” said Arteta after the deal was confirmed on Sunday. “He fits very well and he has all the attributes to be an important player for us.
“The standard that he has consistently performed for both club and country in recent seasons is precisely why we are so enthusiastic to have him with us. We all welcome Martin and his family to the club.”
And Zubimendi is convinced that Arsenal will be a “good fit”, adding: “After I had made the decision to leave, I set my sights on Arsenal because I think their playing style fits me well. It; Sa Young, very motivated and ambitious team.
“They have shown their potential lately, and I believe that the best thing is yet to come. As soon as you set foot here, you realize how big this club and this team are. Andrea and Mikel have taken great care of me, so I had no doubts.
“This is a huge moment in my career. It is the move I was looking for; one that I wanted to make. Of course it's a big change, but I'm ready to start.”
