Haaland excited to combine with ‘special’ Marmoush after Man City debut

Erling Haaland is looking forward to linking the “special” Omar Marmoush after the new signing of Manchester City impressed by his debut.

Marmoush played 74 minutes on Saturday of City's 3-1 victory over Chelsea and marked his first performance since he came to Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this week.

The Egypt International has almost concluded its debut with a first half goal, only for the offside flag to deny him before he also went to the Etihad Stadium in the second period.

Haaland, who scored one and set up another for Phil Foden, believes that Marmoush has already shown the quality that City has made him aimed.

“I think you can see in the first half that he has something special,” Haaland told Sky Sports. “There is a reason why City brought him because he has something special.

“He immediately came to the team and it is about getting to know him as quickly as possible, because there are so many important games.

“It's about giving him confidence and he will be a fantastic player for us.”

Haaland knows all too well about moving the Bundesliga. Just like Marmoush, the Talisman van Norway made an impression in the competition with Borussia Dortmund before he came to City.

Marmoush will also add another dimension to the attack of Guardiola, with the former Eintracht appellant who makes regular runs to support Haaland.

His work percentage was also impressive, Marmoush won five duels against Chelsea, most of every city player Bar Mateo Kovacic (six).

“It's always fun [to have new faces]. I was a new player before I tried to come in with a different energy and different personality, “added Haaland.

“It is also nice to get to know new people and of course to play with good players, that's what you want.”

Marmoush managed 15 goals and placed on 10 assists in just 17 Bundesliga performances for Eintracht in 2024-25, and Haaland hopes that his teammate can now have the same impact on the blue side of Manchester.

“He had an amazing first half of the season for Eintracht Frankfurt and hopefully he will now have the same season with us for the second half of the season,” concluded Haaland.
