Haaland to have highest-paid in EPL EVER as City make ‘record breaking offer’

ERLING HAALAND is on the verge of becoming the Premier League's top earner.

The goalscoring machine has reportedly been offered a new contract with Man City, making him the highest-paid player in the history of the English top flight.

Haaland, 24, has been sensational since arriving in Manchester in 2022, scoring 105 goals in 114 games since joining from Borussia Dortmund.

And despite already being the league's second-highest paid player, earning £375,000 a week, City have reportedly put a record-breaking new bid on the table, making him the Prem's top earner.

According to The Mirror, the four-in-a-row champions have offered Haaland a £500,000-a-week contract that will keep him at Etihad until the end of the 2028/2029 season.

That half-a-million-pound-a-week contract would see him move away from teammate Kevin De Bruyne, who is currently the Prem's highest-paid player on his £400,000-a-week deal.

Unsurprisingly, City are said to have received a “positive response” to Haaland and his camp's lucrative offer following negotiations in Norway with the bagman's family and Brazilian super agent Rafaela Pimenta.

Manchester City are reportedly 'increasingly confident' that the Norway international will put pen to paper on the proposed two-year extension.

However, it is claimed that there is still a stumbling block that could derail the deal.

Haaland's camp are believed to be steadfast in maintaining the striker's £150million release clause, but City managers want it scrapped.

The Mirror's report says both sides could agree to increase the release clause to £200 million to get a deal over the line.

Should Haaland sign the deal, he will be one of the highest-paid players in all of Europe and the standout player in the Premier League.

The former RB Salzburg striker will earn over £150,000 more per week than the Prem's third and fourth highest earners – Mohamed Salah and Casemiro.

He would earn around £175,000 more every week than Raheem Sterling, whose £325,000-a-week salary (split between Arsenal and Chelsea) makes him the Prem's fifth top earner.

Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish are also among the league's top 10 highest-paid players and would still see their £300,000-a-week wages pale in comparison to Haaland's.

While the Prem's tenth highest-paid star, Kai Havertz, would earn almost half of Haaland's salary despite earning around £280,000 every week.
