Hansi Flick: Barcelona lacked killer touch at hostile Getafe

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick was at a loss to explain it as his side were held to a 1-1 draw at Getafe in La Liga.

La Blaugrana made a winning start to 2025 but were held back at old foes Getafe as they failed to find a second-half winner.

A fourth successive league match at the Estadio Coliseum highlights the problem Barcelona have in grinding out wins against the resilient hosts.

The home fans increased the tension in an attempt to throw Barcelona off balance and the Getafe players responded in kind.

It was a typically hostile environment in Madrid and Barcelona's stars were unable to pick a winner. Pedri claimed they might have to win every game to have a chance of winning the title in 2025.

Flick was less pessimistic as the German claimed missed opportunities were re-emerging.

“We had enough chances to win and we are disappointed. You can see what it's like to play for Getafe. They defend well, but we were not accurate in front of goal,” said Marca.

“There was a lot of emotion in the stadium, in all the plays and tackles. I've never experienced it like that before, it's new to me. I'm not happy, but we have to accept what happened today.”
