Barcelona manager Hansi Flick believes that he has reached the leaks at the club. The Blaugrana were a constant source of news and dressing room stories under Xavi Hernandez last season, but German manager seems to have calmed down that trend.
This is not least due to the good atmosphere at the club, and the strong results that Flick has achieved since he took the lead in Catalonia. However, he feels that he has found a way to put an end to the stories that come from the dressing room.
According to La Portera de Nunez, Flick has now banned the medical staff and the press officers from the dining room of the training bus while the first team is eating there. Some have even been removed with the team, and Flick is convinced that among those two departments were the source of the leaks.
This is a story that is supported by information from Radio Catalunya, who say that although President Joan Laporta and Sporting Director Deco are still allowed to come in, Flick has deposited the space for the players.
It has certainly been remarkable that the change between this season and the last, where almost hour updates seemed to come from the club. There were reports that Xavi had even gone through the telephones of some of his staff to try to eradicate the leak, but that was strongly refused by Xavi, who took legal steps against defamation against the journalist in question.
Flick is also praised for his handling of the press and the 'Entorno' around Barcelona, which shifted the focus back to football, despite numerous pitch problems that the club still hinder. Part of it has been a much more austere approach with his press conferences, which were executed exclusively in English, where Flick has generally avoided to give long answers or to get more detail than necessary.
