Barcelona manager Hansi Flick spoke unofficially on Thursday afternoon, while the Catalan giants continued with their preparations for the new season with a double session. The German coach unveiled various important details for the coming month or two.
The La Liga-winning coach invited the collected media to view the first 15 minutes of their training session, while it was confirmed that the new signing Joan Garcia and Wojciech Szczesny were number one and two in goal for next season. Flick told Kapitein Ter Stegen that he is the third choice last week, whereby the club wants to move it this summer.
Flick explained, among other things, that if Barcelona were to bring in players this summer, past Joan Garcia, who would be additions in attack and defense. However, this was led with a reminder that the economic situation of the club leaves them little room for maneuver, but that he had faith in director of Football Deco and his team.
It was also noted that the exit of Ter Stegen could be directly linked to their ability to bring in new players, but refused to comment on potential operation for his fellow countryman. Barcelona is currently training with 35 players, while goalkeeper Ter Stegen also works in the gym. Flick also confirmed that only 26 players would go tour on their previous season, which means that 10 players from the team have to be cut.
That means that the will of Oriol Romeu, who is not in the plans of Barcelona, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Inaki Pena threatens to miss their journey to Japan and South Korea for friendly competitions.
