Hansi Flick praised his Barcelona players after winning his first title as La Blaugrana boss.
The Catalans defeated defending champions Real Madrid 5-2 in Jeddah to claim the 2025 Spanish Super Cup.
Flick's attacks were in irresistible form in Saudi Arabia as Los Blancos had a mountain to climb in the match after four first-half goals.
Barcelona's confidence and ruthlessness in front of goal were too much for Real Madrid to handle and they can now look ahead to the rest of the season with optimism.
Flick claimed the 4-0 win at Madrid in La Liga action in October provided the blueprint for victory, with Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha all on target in both matches.
“The match we played in Madrid gave us confidence to win these kinds of games and we showed that in our reaction to conceding the first goal,” he said at full-time.
“The team is great. We stick together and that's important. The goal is to learn and improve from every match.”
Barcelona will play in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey in midweek and are on the verge of securing a place in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League at the end of January.
They now have to get back into the battle for the league title in the coming weeks, with a six-point lead over leaders Atletico Madrid at mid-season.
