Barcelona manager Hansi Flick cut a satisfied figure after the 5-0 victory on his side at Daegu FC on Sunday, the last game of their pre-season tour in Asia. Their victory in South Korea makes it three victories, admitted four goals and 15 goals scored in their triple header.
The three games saw the minutes spread between most of the Barcelona team. Goalkeeper Inaki Pena was the only player who didn't get a run, with younger Diego Kochen saw 15 minutes before him against Daegu.
“There is nothing to say about that. We have 26 players, four keepers. I am happy with what I have seen of them in training,” Flick told MD.
In the meantime, another player was set up in the last minutes for an injured Pau Cubarsi Hector Fort. In total, Fort played just over 45 minutes during the Tour, and the right back is strongly connected to an exit from Barcelona.
“I am happy with what I saw from Hector Fort. He trained well and played well recently. Asia has been a very important part of the preseason for me, and there are still ten days before we play against Mallorca.”
For the first time, Loan Signing Marcus Rashford operated through the middle without Robert Lewandowski or Ferran Torres there in the second half, although he was even more on the left. Left-back Gerard Martin also played a second game as a central defender.
“Rashford can play at number nine, at number eleven … We put it in because Ferran had problems. And with Gerard we tested whether he can adapt to the center -like role. It has already happened to Eric, who adapted to a position other than his usual, and now Gerard. It's good that he can play in different positions.
Against Daegu, both Dro Fernandez and Toni Fernandez made an impression in midfield, with the 17-year-old duo both scored in the preseason.
“It is very important to have the young players in the area, on the couch. It was very important for us to change every half the start of eleven. It was not easy because of the weather, but they did well. Now we are two days of recovery at home. On Thursday we will continue in the preseason.”
