Barcelona will be disappointed that they have signed 3-3 with Inter in the first stage of their semi-final tie of the Champions League, but it could have been a lot worse that after 21 minutes they were 2-0 in the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Company.
Goals from Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres and Yann Sommer (OG) ensured that Barcelona only has to win on the San Siro next week to book their place in the Champions League final. According to Diario As, head coach Hansi Flick gave his assessment of the 90 minutes, in which he admitted that his side did not have the best opening for the procedure.
“I think we didn't start well. We admitted two goals, but then we came back in the game. The second half was spectacular. There is a second game over and we have to win. It is a final for the final. They have great experience and they showed it. They played very well from set pieces. And they made use of this.”
Lamine Yamal produced an incredible version in Montjuic, and in Flick's eyes he was the key to the Barcelona comeback against Inter.
“He has appeared. He opened the way for us, the goal on 2-1 was important. I am happy with the team, we did a great job.”
In recent weeks, Barcelona Alejandro Bald and Robert Lewandowski has lost due to injuries, and their misery went against Inter while Jules Kounde was enforced in the first half with a muscle problem. Flick admitted that he does not know how serious it is.
“No, we have to wait until tomorrow.”
Barcelona will believe that they can go to Milan next week and be able to win the victory they need to reach the Champions League final, but without Kounde it is certainly more difficult.
