Hansi Flick’s bold left-back plan to cover for Alejandro Balde

Barcelona was knocked down by a crucial injury strap prior to the 2024/25 season with Alejandro Bald.

The Spain International was forced in the opening phase of Barcelona's 1-0 LA Liga victory at Leganes while Hansi Flick's side held their title leader.

On a filthy night in the capital, Balde's early withdrawal was an important point of conversation, with concern about how long he would be excluded.

Barcelona has since confirmed a hamstring injury with a statement about the 21-year-old released by La Blaugrana.

“Tests performed on Sunday morning on Alejandro Bald confirm that he has a distal injury on his left hamstring. His return to action with the first team will depend on his recovery.”

According to reports from Diario Sport, it is assumed that the timeline for the recovery of Balke is approximately 2-3 weeks. That means that he will miss the coming matches against Borussia Dortmund, Celta Vigo and Mallorca, with his place in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid on 26 April a big doubt.

He needs a huge recovery burst to conflict again for the final as it could be before the two -week marking with Gerard Martin on course to board.

Martin will cover in the next three games before Flick makes a phone call about his willingness to face Real Madrid, but the 23-year-old will not be buried by the prospect to start such a big game.

According to reports from ESPN, Flick will also dive into his La Masia reserves to cover for the absence of Baldde, with a highly appreciated left back Jofre-Torrents that have been set to train with the first team.

The 18-year-old trained with the senior players before this season, and he will be involved in MatchDay-Squadrons in the coming weeks, and he could get some match action to keep him sharp if necessary.
