Harry Kane has told Sky Sports that he is hungry for more success after achieving the first big trophy of his career in Bayern Munich.
Kane celebrates a Bundesliga triumph with Bayern last week and scored on Saturday in their last game of the season to complete the top Corder prize for a second year in a row.
The captain of England says that it was a special feeling to get hold of silverware and focuses on more large trophies – with Bayern and the national team.
“It was incredible,” Kane said about his success this period. “Coming for a long time. I almost had a little -missers, but that feeling once it was official was all I had hoped.
“A lot of hard work, dedication at that time. A weight of the shoulders. A party even after a difficult season.
“I would have liked to have won a trophy earlier in my career. But even now that I have won, okay, it can change the perception for many people. Enjoy it, but we're going again. We'll see how much we can still win.
“I am in a great club, I feel really good myself, so I just try to keep improving. I don't let this be delayed.
“There is still much to be achieved. A lot to win trophies, some of the largest ones there are. We also have a tournament for the national team next summer and we have been extremely close, and I know that that is not only I is, but the whole team is hungry to try to reach.”
Kane's former club Tottenham can put an end to their own long wait for a trophy on Wednesday when they are confronted with Manchester United in the Europa League final – and the record scorer of Spurs hopes that they can have their own special moment in Bilbao.
“It was a difficult season for Tottenham in the competition, but they have the chance to make it one of the best seasons in recent history,” said Kane.
“I clearly wish them the very best, I still have many friends in the players and the staff, I know how much it would mean for them, how much it would mean for the fans.
“It will be difficult. United has experience in the larger games. But Tottenham has shown that they can compete at every level and they deserve to be in the final.
“I will certainly keep an eye on it and wish them the best.”
Bayern's Trophy Parade: Cockatoes, Karaoke and Kane in Lederhosen
Sky Sports News' Paul Gilmour in Munich:
“If you were somewhere near Marienplatz in Munich this weekend, you would have heard it: the men's and women's teams of Bayern Munich turn from the city center into a full party.
“The celebrations took place on the balcony of the beautiful 151-year-old town hall of Munich, and it had everything. Silverware, sunshine, lederhosen and even a fake caketry.
“Harry Kane and Thomas Muller led the team to the building for a meeting with Mayor Dieter Reiter. The players were dressed in traditional Bavarian equipment, Lederhosen for the men's team and dirndl for the women. Kane wore the Bundesliga -Trophy, while Muller, a cockatoo.
“Apparently it came from one of the restaurants in which the team celebrated and somehow became a happy mascot. Vincent Kompany even ensured that it appeared during last week's trophy lift.
“The players were all in a good mood, as a little flowering eyes from the night before. Sunglasses were very necessary and Leon Goretzka's had written 'champions' for a good measure about the lenses.
“After meeting the mayor and find their way to the balcony, the square below turned into a karaoke session. A 'techno version' of 'Sweet Caroline' got things going, with Kane and Georgia Stanway who grabbed the microphone to lead the singing. The crowd was absolutely fond of it.
“Then came the duet that nobody expected – Kane and Muller who came to me follow me through Uncle Kracker, who this season became the unofficial anthem in the dressing room. Muller even revealed that he and the captain of England had repetaged in Ibiza.
“Later Kane came in one of the big rooms of the town hall to chat with Sky Sports News. Kane is a dedicated, decent and professional person with a goals of world class. He had earned this day from a party and we thought about his trophy victory.
“The players, including Stanway, Eric Dier and Michael Olise, got stuck to sign signatures and take pictures with fans. Even Kompany, who looked like he was in a hurry, stopped for a quick talk and spoke with real pride about what the team achieved. He then gave an unprecedented shout for Burnley to get promotion.
“It has been to Munich for a few days and after this weekend it feels that Bayern is back where they hear after Bayer Leverkusen dared to disturb their electricity last season. The party has only just begun.”
